Hope this isn’t considered off topic. I spent the summer building this duck run/coop/pond/filtration system. Rough diagram included. It’s powered by a solar 24vdc system to run a Jebao water pump. Pump moves water to the bog filter, then the overflow feeds into a 115g reservoir filled with a mix of hydroton and volcanic pumice. The drain is a bell siphon that I finally got tuned.
We don’t have ducks yet, that’s a spring thing, but I was happy to get the hydraulics system worked out. We will be limited in what we can grow in the bed to things that get cooked completely; no salad greens or anything like that due to the risk of ecoli/salmonella, but for cooked veg or other plants it should be fine. Pardon the leaves littering in some pictures. submitted by /u/fungi__cat
